Special Racing Bulls livery unveiled for F1 United States GP

The highly unusual special Racing Bulls livery features a striking tortoise-themed design set to debut at the upcoming Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin.

The eye-catching design marks a bold departure from their traditional white livery and represents a collaboration between the Anglo-Italian team, title sponsor Cash App, and American country music star Shaboozey.

The new tortoise livery features a pearlescent black and amber pattern mimicking the distinctive shell of a tortoise, accompanied by elegant gold detailing that elevates the car’s visual appeal while maintaining a sense of sophistication and style.

The inspiration behind the unique livery originates from Cash App’s recently launched prepaid Visa debit card known as the “Tortoise Card” which made its debut earlier this year in the United States.

Racing Bulls sought to integrate this product into the racing culture by translating the tortoise shell’s characteristic colors and textures onto their VCARB 02 cars raced by drivers Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson.

The design wraps around the sidepods, engine cover and extends to the wheel covers, creating a cohesive and unmistakable presence that stands out both on and off the track.

The tortoise livery also extends consistently into the drivers’ race suits, team uniforms, and even the garage décor, ensuring that the entire team embodies the design throughout the race weekend.

The special Racing Bulls livery is more than just a visual spectacle—it symbolizes the team’s ambition to bridge multiple cultural domains: motorsport, music, and fashion.

The involvement of Shaboozey, a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter known for the hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” adds a creative and cultural facet to the project.

Shaboozey also starred in a short promotional film accompanying the launch of the tortoise card and livery, blending art and commerce while leveraging his influence within the American music scene to engage a wider and younger audience.

It’s a deliberate move by Racing Bulls to connect Formula 1’s high-tech racing environment with the vibrancy of contemporary music culture and the lifestyle aesthetics embraced by Cash App’s clientele.

Racing Bulls CEO Peter Bayer highlighted the importance of culturally infused designs in defining the team’s brand identity.

“Once again, we have tapped into culture in a way that’s uniquely VCARB,” Bayer said. “These special liveries have become part of our identity; moments where motorsport meets music, fashion and creativity.

“The design we’re bringing to the track this weekend is another bold expression of that spirit, and Austin is the perfect place to bring it to life.”

The team previously ran a magenta livery at the Miami Grand Prix inspired by a new Red Bull beverage release, and also celebrated team sponsor HUGO with a unique livery at the British Grand Prix.

Racing Bulls enters the United States Grand Prix hoping to build on their recent performance improvements in the 2025 F1 season.

The team ranks sixth in the current F1 standings with Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson taking ninth and 14th, respectively, in the drivers’ standings.
