The highly anticipated McLaren 2026 F1 livery was officially revealed at a spectacular season launch event held at the Bahrain International Circuit as the team prepares to defend its Formula 1 titles.
The reveal which took place just days before the start of pre-season testing showcased the McLaren MCL40 in traditional papaya orange and black color design that pays homage to the team’s storied heritage, while embracing the radical new regulations set to transform the sport.
The Woking-based outfit enters the new era with immense confidence buoyed by back-to-back triumphs in 2025 that saw them clinch the constructors’ title in Singapore with six rounds to spare—the earliest such victory in modern F1 history.
Lando Norris sealed his maiden drivers’ championship in Abu Dhabi edging out Max Verstappen by a mere two points after a nail-biting finale, while Oscar Piastri‘s consistent podiums and wins propelled the team to its second straight crown.
For 2026, McLaren retains the same design from previous years but this time round the bold papaya hue is more vibrant and dominates much of the car’s bodywork, accented by sleek black elements that enhance aerodynamic efficiency and visual impact.
The livery also prominently features title sponsor Mastercard, whose upgraded partnership brings increased visibility with larger logos strategically placed for maximum exposure during high-speed broadcasts.

Prior to the full reveal, drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri had teased the McLaren MCL40 in a temporary all-black interim livery during last month’s filming day shakedown runs in Barcelona.
“It’s fantastic to reveal our McLaren 2026 F1 livery for the MCL40 challenger as we reach an important milestone in our team’s incredible work and dedication before we begin racing this year,” team principal Andrea Stella said.
“While we have the benefit of the lessons learned from our success in the past few years, the whole grid is restarting from zero and our past achievements count for nothing.
“Our objective is to hit the ground running, and we have the best combination of team, driver pairing, collaboration with Mercedes HPP, partners, and fans to be able to do this.
“We will continue to focus on creating the conditions to succeed as we approach our biggest challenge to date. It should be a fantastic season of racing for the fans, and we’re excited to get going.”
