Aston Martin 2026 F1 livery launch: Adrian Newey-designed AMR26 takes full shape

The fresh Aston Martin 2026 F1 livery was revealed at the official launch of the AMR26, the first car entirely designed under the technical direction of Formula 1 design legend Adrian Newey.

Unveiled at a high‑profile event at the Ithra cultural centre in Dhahran, near Dammam in Saudi Arabia, the Silverstone‑based squad presented a race‑ready British Racing Green scheme that will carry the new car into the new era of F1 technology, marked by sweeping chassis and power unit regulation changes.

In doing so, Aston Martin signaled its debut as a full works‑team in partnership with Honda, while Adrian Newey himself assumes formal leadership of the technical and sporting roadmap.

The visual identity of Aston Martin AMR26 remains rooted in the brand’s motorsport heritage with a refined version of the traditional green—this time rendered in a contemporary matte satin finish that distinguishes the 2026 car from its predecessors.

Running diagonally across the nose and along the sidepods, the green accent is framed by black detailing that breaks up the bodywork and creates a more aggressive, techno‑racing silhouette, carefully calibrated to emphasize the airflow features Newey and his aerodynamics team have developed under the new rules.

This livery also carries clear visual cues to the team’s commercial and technical ecosystem, including expanded branding for title sponsor Aramco which has been deeply involved in developing bespoke fuels for the new hybrid‑heavy power unit architecture.

The design also features the updated Honda logotype celebrating the Japanese manufacturer’s return to Formula 1 as Aston Martin’s official powertrain partner.

Aston Martin 2026 F1 livery reveal comes just days after first meaningful track exposure of the AMR26 at the Barcelona shakedown where the car spooled up under a temporary all‑black wrap due to paint‑shop time constraints, according to Newey.

The team was allocated two days of running but initial problems limited Lance Stroll to just five exploratory laps on the first session day, highlighting the typical teething issues that come with new rules.

Fernando Alonso took to the circuit the following day and completed 61 laps, yielding a more substantial baseline dataset for the control‑room engineers charged with tuning engine mapping, brake‑by‑wire responses, and aerodynamic trim.

The new car will run in public for the first time at this week’s Bahrain test with all eyes set on the 2026 F1 season opener at Melbourne.
