Toprak Razgatlioglu overcame a tough challenge from Nicolo Bulega to seal his second victory of the weekend as Jonathan Rea crashed – Full 2025 Estoril WorldSBK Superpole Race Results.
The race commenced with Alvaro Bautista launching off the line aggressively, grabbing the holeshot into Turn 1.
However, it was Bulega who quickly seized control, taking the lead from second position by Turn 2, demonstrating his intent early on.
Razgatlioglu suffered a slow getaway and found himself stuck behind Bautista’s Ducati, unable to exploit his pace and strategic advantage in the opening laps.
As the second lap unfolded, Razgatlioglu made a decisive and skillful move to pass Bautista, and then targeted championship rival Bulega with an overtake at Turn 1, taking over the race lead.
Behind them, Yamaha riders Jonathan Rea and Andrea Locatelli took advantage of strong starts to advance impressively into fourth and fifth positions, respectively with Rea passing Bautista at Turn 9 to take third.
However, Bautista showed the strength and reliability of his Ducati and fought back to regain third place from Rea at Turn 1 on Lap 3.
The leading quartet consisting mainly of Razgatlioglu, Bulega, Bautista, Rea, and Locatelli proceeded to extend a gap of around 1.6 seconds over the rest of the pack by Lap 4.
The rest of the field, composed of riders from various factory and independent teams, engaged in their own strategic battles, each vying to maximize championship points as the season neared its climax.
As the race progressed toward the midway mark, Razgatlioglu maintained a fragile but effective lead, displaying precision in cornering and throttle control.
Bulega, closely shadowed the BMW rider relentless in his pursuit, trying to exploit any tyre wear or slight errors to regain the lead, while Bautista held firm in third but remained under pressure from Rea and Locatelli, who sought opportunities amid the battles ahead.
The race’s defining moment came when Jonathan Rea crashed at Turn 7 on Lap 8 while running in fifth behind Locatelli who had passed him earlier on Lap 5.

In the closing laps, Toprak Razgatlioglu and Nicolo Bulega continued their fierce duel but Bulega struggled with front-end grip, which compromised his ability to mount a sustained attack on Razgatlioglu.
The Turkish rider managed his tyre wear expertly while battling rear spin issues and preserved enough control to keep Bulega at bay at the checkered flag.
Alvaro Bautista solidified his place on the podium, while Andrea Locatelli and Andrea Iannone rounded out the top five.
