2025 Estoril WorldSBK Race 2 Results: Nicolo Bulega claims victory as Ducati seals teams’ title

Nicolo Bulega broke Toprak Razgatlioglu’s run of dominance with a commanding lights-to-flag victory in race two, rolling the championship showdown to the season finale – Full 2025 Estoril WorldSBK Race 2 Results.

The race unfolded over 21 intense laps on Sunday with the Italian rider taking the lead from the start and holding it resolutely to the checkered flag.

The impressive win not only bolstered Bulega’s championship hopes but also secured the 2025 WSBK Teams Championship for Ducati after a season-long campaign of consistent excellence.

From the drop of the lights, Nicolo Bulega launched off the line with precision, leveraging his second grid position to overtake the pole sitter immediately and seize control at Turn 1.

He was sharply followed by a strong pack including Andrea Locatelli, Andrea Iannone, Alvaro Bautista, and championship leader Toprak Razgatlioglu, who initially suffered a less-than-ideal start.

By the first corner, Razgatlioglu dropped down to fifth place behind the Ducati riders and Yamahas, needing to claw back through the field.

After Lap 1 Bulega had already established a clean rhythm at the front, riding at his best to maintain a gap from his rivals.

By Lap 2, Razgatlioglu began to push aggressively back up the order, moving past riders like Bautista and Iannone before the latter was unfortunately handed a double Long Lap Penalty for a jump start, slightly reshuffling the midfield battle.

Razgatlioglu’s persistence paid off as he overtook Locatelli to claim second place at Turn 9 while setting his sights firmly on the race leader. Meanwhile, Bautista managed to regain ground positioning himself for a possible podium finish.

As the race progressed into its early stages, the championship contenders traded lap times around the 1.4 to 1.5-second gap.

Bulega appeared in control but did not let up, increasing his pace notably by Lap 7. He clocked a lap four tenths quicker than Razgatlioglu, extending his lead to approximately 1.5 seconds.

The widening gap signaled a turning point where Bulega was not only leading but beginning to impose his pace on the race, while Razgatlioglu pressed hard aiming to reduce the deficit.

The Turkish rider’s attempts were bold and aggressive, showcasing why he remains a fierce title contender; however, his efforts to close the gap took a toll on his rear tyre which ultimately hindered his pursuit as the laps wore on.

Bulega’s dominance became clear as he widened the gap further in the closing laps, finally crossing the line to claim victory with a commanding 4.868-second lead ahead of Razgatlioglu, while Bautista completed the podium.

Bulega’s victory ensured that the fight for the title would extend to the season finale at Jerez, with 39 points separating him from Razgatlioglu.

Meanwhile, the double Ducati podium finish helped the team seal the 2025 WSBK Teams Championship bolstered by consistent results from Bulega and Bautista throughout the season.

The remainder of the top 10 featured competitive performances from Alex Lowes, Andrea Locatelli, Remy Gardner, Axel Bassani, Jonathan Rea, Michael van der Mark, and Iker Lecuona.
