2025 Aragon WorldSBK Superpole Race Results: Nicolo Bulega ends Razgatlioglu’s streak with final corner win

Nicolo Bulega overcame Toprak Razgatlioglu with a decisive final corner overtake to secure Aragon WorldSBK Superpole Race victory, ending Razgatlioglu’s winning streak.

From the opening lap, the pace was blistering as the riders jostled for position on the 5.077 km MotorLand Aragon circuit.

Bulega, who had made some overnight bike setup improvements to his Ducati Panigale V4 R, looked comfortable and aggressive right from the green flag.

Meanwhile, Razgatlioglu was equally determined to assert his dominance after winning the first race on Saturday, leading the championship points and coming into Aragon with strong momentum.

As the race kicked off, the front group, featuring the two title protagonists along with Alvaro Bautista, Andrea Iannone and Jonathan Rea engaged in a tactical inching forward and defensive maneuvers.

Bulega showed excellent control and race craft to stay close to Razgatlioglu, who was highly aggressive in his overtakes and perfectly matched in speed.

Bautista, riding the sister Aruba.it Ducati, maintained podium pressure just a few seconds behind the leading duo, not making mistakes after his Saturday crash.

Throughout laps 2 to 6, the battle for supremacy was intense as Bulega and Razgatlioglu exchanged the lead multiple times, with each rider responding brilliantly to the other’s attempts to break away.

The physical demands of the track and tyre management became apparent as they executed flawless cornering and braking to gain crucial tenths of a second.

Lap 7 saw Bulega execute a bold but calculated pass on Razgatlioglu entering Turn 12, temporarily taking the lead. The Turkish rider immediately responded with an assertive counter-attack on the next straight, reclaiming first place.

As they entered the critical final laps 8 and 9, tyre wear and fatigue started to influence the race strategy and Bulega, known for his late-race speed, preserved his tyres well and planned a final decisive move.

On the tenth lap, Nicolo Bulega ultimately executed a precise late-braking maneuver at the final corner, that allowed him to edge past Toprak Razgatlioglu in a breathtaking photo finish.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Bautista held firm to claim the final podium spot ahead of Andrea Iannone in fourth marking his best result since Cremona Race 1.

Behind the top four, a tight contest for fifth to tenth place involved Sam Lowes, Alex Lowes, Danilo Petrucci, Jonathan Rea, Michael van der Mark and Xavi Vierge, all finishing in that order.
