Nicolo Bulega sealed a spectacular Aragon double after claiming a commanding victory in Race 2, firmly establishing himself as a top contender in the 2025 WorldSBK championship.
From the very start of the 18-lap race, Bulega demonstrated his skill and pace, taking the holeshot from pole position and setting the tone for a fierce battle against championship leader Toprak Razgatlioglu.
The first lap set the stage with Bulega leading cleanly into Turn 1, followed closely by Razgatlioglu and Bautista, who was soon overtaken by Iannone and Jonathan Rea and tumbled down the order momentarily.
By lap 2, Bulega and Razgatlioglu had created a gap of several seconds over the rest of the pack, highlighting their superior pace.
Razgatlioglu showed tenacity and briefly took the lead at Turn 15 but was quickly overtaken again by Bulega, who capitalized on Ducati’s power advantage on straights to retake control.
Midway through the race, the focus remained on the leading duo, as Razgatlioglu attempted aggressive maneuvers to close the gap but was hindered by a critical mistake on lap 12 at Turn 7.
The Turkish rider misjudged the downshift, lost engine braking effectiveness, and ran wide, which allowed Bulega to extend his lead to over three seconds by the finish.
This tactical awareness complemented Nicolo Bulega’s aggressive style and highlighted why he was able to reduce Toprak Razgatlioglu’s championship lead from 39 points to 36.
Meanwhile, Bulega’s teammate Alvaro Bautista secured a steady third place, although he gradually fell behind the increasingly commanding duel at the front.
Andrea Iannone demonstrated tenacity in taking fourth after riding diligently to overtake the strong and experienced Jonathan Rea, who managed to hold on to fifth despite pressure from Sam Lowes, who unfortunately crashed out in the latter stages while contesting for a top position.
Alex Lowes performed solidly in sixth for the bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team, narrowly ahead of Andrea Locatelli of the Pata Maxus Yamaha squad.
The battle for the top ten featured fierce competition from Danilo Petrucci, who finished eighth on his Barni Spark Racing Ducati, followed by Axel Bassani and Honda HRC rider Xavi Vierge, who rounded out the top ten.
