Aston Martin THOR seized control of both classes in second practice for the 2026 WEC Lone Star Le Mans at COTA with Harry Tincknell fastest in Hypercar while Zach Robichon led LMGT3.
Tincknell posted a 1:52.567 behind the wheel of the No. 007 Aston Martin Valkyrie he shares with Tom Gamble, beating the No. 35 Alpine A424 of Charles Milesi by 0.122 seconds.
Mathys Jaubert rebounded from an early off at Turn 2 to finish third fastest in the No. 17 Genesis GMR-001, while Victor Martins slotted the sister No. 36 Alpine into fourth with Robert Kubica leading the Ferrari 499Ps in fifth.
The factory No. 50 and No. 51 499Ps could only manage sixth and seventh, respectively, after Antonio Giovinazzi topped the timesheets in Free Practice 1. The sister No. 009 Aston Martin Valkyrie of Marco Sorensen was eighth, 0.925s off the benchmark, with the pair of BMWs completing the top 10.
The No. 38 Hertz Team JOTA Cadillac V-Series.R was 11th fastest, followed by the No. 8 Toyota TS010 Hybrid in 12th. The second No. 19 Genesis was 13th, ahead of the best of the Peugeots, the No. 94 in 14th.
Heart of Racing topped the LMGT3 timesheets in second Lone Star Le Mans practice thanks to a 2:05.609 lap set by Zach Robichon in the No. 27 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo.
Robichon’s effort was delivered in the closing minutes bumping the No. 61 Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo of Rui Andrade to second and the sister No. 79 entry of Lin Hodenius to third in class after the duo led much of the session.
No. 21 and No. 22 Garage 59 McLarens completed the top five, more than half a second off the class benchmark, followed by the No. 92 Manthey Porsche and No. 78 Lexus ASP.
