Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc delivered a commanding performance on the second day of Formula 1 pre-season testing at Bahrain International Circuit, posting the fastest lap time of 1m34.273s which remained unbeaten throughout the sessions.
Reigning world champion Lando Norris followed closely in second place, just 0.511s adrift, while also completing the most laps at 149, showcasing McLaren’s endurance and reliability under the new regulations.
Oliver Bearman elevated Haas to a surprise third on the timesheets (1.548s off Leclerc), the young British talent logging 130 laps in the Haas VF-26.
Mercedes, recovering from Day 1 gremlins, saw George Russell reclaim fourth after a minor off-track excursion at the notorious Turn 10, while Red Bull’s Isack Hadjar bounced back strongly in the afternoon to slot into fifth edging Audi’s Gabriel Bortoleto by a hundredth.
Pierre Gasly rebounded from a mechanical issue in Alpine A526 to claim seventh fastest lap ahead of Cadillac’s Valtteri Bottas, with Williams’ Alex Albon and Nico Hulkenberg in the second Audi completing the top ten.
