Friday afternoon’s practice turned out to be an Aprilia only affair as Marco Bezzecchi topped the timesheets with a new lap record followed by Raul Fernandez who clocked in just 0.291 seconds adrift.
Behind the Aprilia duo was another strong performer Fabio Di Giannantonio on the Ducati who completed the top three, followed closely by Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo and an aggressive showing from Alex Marquez who rounded out the top five.
Quartararo’s teammate Álex Rins secured sixth place, while Luca Marini, Pol Espargaro, Francesco Bagnaia and Pedro Acosta secured the last Q2 entries for Saturday’s qualifying.
Home hero Jack Miller who topped the morning free practice faced some challenges in the afternoon and finished 13th, far off his earlier pace but still motivated for the weekend.
