The team confirmed a bold rebrand to Toyota Racing as they pulled the covers off the newly updated TR010 Hybrid Hypercar for the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship season.
The dual announcement signals the Japanese marque’s strategic push to reclaim dominance in the Hypercar class after securing second place in the 2025 manufacturers’ standings behind Ferrari.
The Toyota TR010 Hybrid Hypercar builds directly on the legacy of the GR010 which clinched victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2022 and 2024, solidifying Toyota’s status as the series’ most successful manufacturer with six Drivers’ championships and seven Manufacturers’ trophies since entering in 2012.
The new challenger, an extensively revised version of the previous GR010 Hybrid that debuted in 2021, introduces substantial aerodynamic updates, a striking new red-white-and-black livery, and aligns with broader corporate restructuring at the Japanese manufacturer.
While the team has kept specific technical specifications under wraps to maintain a competitive edge, visual inspections reveal key aerodynamic enhancements, including a redesigned front end where the wheel arches integrate more seamlessly into the nose cone, optimizing airflow management crucial for endurance racing.
The rear wing features pronounced endplates, a modification aimed at improving stability and downforce efficiency, particularly under the Balance of Performance regulations that govern outright speed in the Hypercar category.

At the heart of the TR010 Hybrid remains the proven V6 twin-turbocharged internal combustion engine paired with a hybrid system, delivering power through the front and rear axles in line with LMH rules that emphasize cost control and parity over raw performance.
The latest updates mark the first major revision since 2023, as the team confirmed last year it would use an unspecified number of Evo jokers on its 2026 challenger.
The updated Toyota TR010 Hybrid Hypercar has already completed wind tunnel testing at the Windshear facility in the United States alongside two shake down tests—at Paul Ricard on October 8-9 and Qatar on December 10-12 with both cars sporting a camouflage livery.
Toyota Racing has planned further testing at Paul Ricard at the end of the month and in February at Motorland Aragon, before debut at the 2026 WEC season opener, the Qatar 1812km, in late March.
The #7 TR010 Hybrid will be piloted by Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, and Nyck de Vries, while Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryō Hirakawa run the #8.
