Nick Cassidy delivered a flawless lights-to-flag performance in his final race weekend for Jaguar TCS Racing at the 2025 London E-Prix while TAG Heuer Porsche sealed teams’ and manufacturers’ titles in a fitting Formula E Season 11 finale.

Taking place at the iconic ExCeL London circuit, the ABB FIA Formula E Season 11 finale was not just a racing spectacle but a high-stakes battle for the final bragging rights in teams’ and manufacturers’ championship standings.

Anticipation was high ahead of Race 2, with Nick Cassidy’s pole position placing him in prime contention for a victorious Jaguar swansong, his last outing for the British marque.

The path to pole was dramatic, featuring a unique turn of events after Dan Ticktum who originally topped the qualifying Duels was hit with a five-place grid penalty for an infraction in Race 1, thus promoting Cassidy to the front row.

The grid shuffle also saw Maximilian Günther start alongside Cassidy, with teammate Mitch Evans and Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein next in line.

From the very first lap, Cassidy asserted his intent, utilizing optimal energy management and racecraft to hold off early advances particularly from Evans and the always-threatening Nyck de Vries who started close behind.

Despite the early attentions from the pursuing pack, Cassidy’s composure ensured he maintained the lead through the initial corners while the opening laps saw the usual jostling for track position with de Vries slicing through to second and Envision’s Sébastien Buemi establishing himself as a podium contender.

The first major incident occurred when an aggressive advance resulted in DS Penske’s Maximilian Günther suffering front suspension damage.

The resulting stranded car on the fast, enclosed section triggered a Safety Car on just the third lap, neutralizing the field and setting up a tense restart.

Cassidy maintained his composure leading the group back to green flag running with Evans, de Vries, Wehrlein and Ticktum making up the remainder of the top six.

As the race established its rhythm the field began to fragment through energy management tactics and planned Activation of Attack Mode, with most frontrunners aiming to combine strategic energy boosts with overtaking opportunities.

The full course yellow and safety car periods extended the race by two laps, further complicating mathematical calculations for both drivers and engineers as they tried to balance outright speed with the tight margins of energy preservation that define Formula E.

Crucially, Cassidy’s unblemished execution netted him a buffer as chaos erupted behind. Evans, determined to provide Jaguar TCS Racing with a fitting double, found himself locked in a tense, tactical mirror match with de Vries.

The New Zealander’s relentless pursuit was initially rewarded with a second-place on-the-road finish, but a post-race five-second time penalty for a technical breach would ultimately demote him to fifth in the classification.

Nyck de Vries managed to hold onto his second place amid a monumental duel with Sebastien Buemi in the tense closing laps as the latter finished third.

Jake Dennis’s Andretti finished a close fourth on home soil while Antonio Felix da Costa staged a recovery drive from the rear of the grid for TAG Heuer Porsche, making up places with unyielding focus to finish an impressive sixth.

Da Costa’s teammate Pascal Wehrlein delivered a points-scoring finish in eighth despite sustaining damage early on, putting Porsche decisively out of Nissan’s reach in the standings.

Further down the order, veteran Lucas di Grassi and young Cupra Kiro star David Beckmann both grabbed points, rounding out the top ten.

The attrition rate was notable, with four drivers failing to see the checkered flag. World champion Oliver Rowland’s race ended in the barriers, while Sam Bird, Nico Müller, Taylor Barnard, and Edoardo Mortara also retired after a mix of technical failures and unfortunate on-track clashes.
