Nick Cassidy and Jaguar TCS Racing have confirmed the end of their high-profile partnership after the London E‑Prix season‑finale.
This strategic decision follows months of speculation about the New Zealand driver’s future with reports claiming he has secured a long-term contract with a team within the Stellantis group, possibly Maserati or a rebranded DS Penske outfit, ahead of the new Gen4 Formula E regulations slated for 2026–27.
Nick Cassidy, widely regarded as one of the most talented and consistent drivers in Formula E’s Gen3 era, joined Jaguar TCS Racing at the start of Season 10. His arrival was seen as a coup for the British marque, which was seeking to boost its championship charge among manufacturers.
Having previously delivered impressive results with Envision Racing (Jaguar’s customer team), Cassidy’s outright speed saw him claim a podium in his first race with Jaguar before capturing victory at the 2024 Diriyah E-Prix in just his second outing, quickly establishing himself as a title threat.
As the 2024 season unfolded, Nick Cassidy and Jaguar amassed further successes, including two wins, six podium finishes, five fastest laps, and a pole position.
Season 10 saw Cassidy record 176 points which ultimately helped Jaguar secure its first Formula E Teams’ World Championship—the manufacturer’s maiden global motorsport title since the early 1990s.
Season 11 saw Cassidy continue his aggressive approach, often fighting at the sharp end of the field while mastering the challenges posed by the sport’s technical regulations.
With victories in Shanghai and Berlin, plus several additional podiums and fastest laps, Cassidy’s cumulative Jaguar point haul prior to the London E-Prix finale stands at 278.
It was only in the high-stakes cauldron of a winner-takes-all title decider in Berlin that Cassidy’s title hopes finally evaporated under immense pressure from championship rivals.
“The decision to leave Jaguar TCS Racing has not been an easy one, but ultimately it is the right one for me personally,” said Cassidy.
“I’d like to thank everyone at the team for their support since I joined at the beginning of Season 10. We have fought hard and had some great success together.
“I particularly want to thank the engineers and mechanics on the No. 37 side of the garage – we’ve made some amazing memories!
“Looking ahead to London this weekend, we’ll work as hard as ever as a team to ensure we’re competitive and fighting for another top three finish in the Drivers’ World Championship.”

For Jaguar, the task now turns to filling the void left by Cassidy’s departure. Attention has swiftly shifted to possible driver replacements, with Antonio Felix da Costa and Jake Hughes rumoured to be among the candidates most closely linked to the coveted Jaguar seat.
