Denny Hamlin‘s victory in Sunday’s South Point 400 at Las Vegas locked him firmly into the Championship 4, propelling him to the top of the playoff points leaderboard.
Close behind Hamlin was Kyle Larson who delivered a strong runner-up finish that added 54 points to his tally, moving up to second place in the standings with 4086 points.
Larson’s consistent performance throughout the race ensured he remains well-positioned, holding a 35-point cushion above the elimination line heading into the Championship 4 stage.
Hamlin’s Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Christopher Bell and Chase Briscoe are the last two drivers above the cut line, after finishing the South Point 400 in third and fourth, respectively.
The first driver below the cut line is 2025 NASCAR Cup regular season champion William Byron who was caught in a crash with 30 laps remaining after a strong run.
His Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott suffered damage in a multi-car crash during the final Stage and will likely need to win one of the next two races to clinch a slot in the championship race.
Team Penske drivers Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney round out the standings. Blaney’s early crash saw him finish dead last in Las Vegas, dropping him from second to the bottom of the playoff standings.
