Jack Miller has publicly expressed growing frustration over stalled Pramac Yamaha contract talks regarding his future and claims he has “options” for 2026 MotoGP.
Despite having outperformed many of his peers this year, the Australian MotoGP rider finds himself in a precarious position as Yamaha delays a final decision on whether to renew his one-year deal which is set to expire at the conclusion of the 2025 season.
Jack Miller’s situation has created considerable uncertainty not only for himself but also within the Yamaha MotoGP ecosystem, which faces significant challenges both on the track and in managing its rider lineup.
Miller’s candid remarks ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix reflected his impatience and readiness to explore opportunities outside the current MotoGP paddock if Yamaha does not act decisively soon.
“I feel like Yamaha doesn’t want me especially because of the number of names that are appearing on the list of candidates,” the 30-year old rider told media including Racetrackmasters.com at Balaton Park.
“I have a deadline that I won’t say. I’ve had enough patience with Yamaha. If you want me, you want me; if you don’t, I don’t.
“I have options outside of Yamaha, and I’m going to move there. It will be outside of this paddock, clearly; there are no bikes available here right now.”
His sense of frustration is further compounded by Yamaha’s troubled season, highlighted by a recent race in Austria where all four factory Yamaha bikes finished in the last four positions – a historically low outcome for the brand.
Yamaha’s situation is complicated by several factors. The impending arrival of two-time World Superbikes champion Toprak Razgatlioglu for Pramac Yamaha next season shakes up the internal lineup, essentially leaving Jack Miller and his teammate Miguel Oliveira in uncertain limbo.
Oliveira’s contract includes conditions tied to his performance, which reportedly has not met expectations this season, leaving another question mark over his future.
Adding to this, the appearance of high-profile candidates for Pramac’s rider slots has generated considerable speculation, leading Miller to feel sidelined.

Despite the ongoing delays in Pramac Yamaha contract talks, Miller maintains that he has much to offer the Japanese marque, particularly with the development of their new V4 engine.
“I wanted to contribute to developing the V4 engine and work with them, because I think I have a lot of useful information that can help them with this project,” he added.
“But if they don’t see it that way, I’ll move on and try something else.”
Miller’s options beyond Yamaha appear to be limited but significant, mostly pointing towards a potential move to the World Superbike Championship.
Reports indicate that he has received an offer from BMW to compete in WorldSBK, suggesting a plausible alternative path should his MotoGP future not materialize as hoped.
Other possibilities in WorldSBK include factory Yamaha and Honda teams, though seats there are also competitive and not plentiful.
Miller’s potential switch would mark a notable transition after nearly a decade in MotoGP, during which he has amassed four Grand Prix victories but has struggled to secure a top-tier ride consistently in recent seasons.
From Yamaha’s perspective, the delay in confirming Miller’s fate seems partly linked to its pursuit of emerging talent from Moto2.
Rising stars like Diogo Moreira and Manuel Gonzalez are reportedly in consideration for future Yamaha seats.
However, Moreira’s move to Honda’s LCR team has reshuffled some options which could marginally favor Miller, though no definitive decisions have been announced.
