Ferrari 2026 F1 car unveiled with bold new livery

The newly unveiled Ferrari 2026 F1 car, the SF-26, features a striking fresh livery that blends the team’s iconic red with prominent white accents and a glossy finish, marking a bold visual evolution ahead of the new Formula 1 regulatory era.

The Scuderia unveiled revealed their new challenger in a short video before heading to their Fiorano test track, where Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc wasted no time putting the car through its paces in an initial shakedown.

This unveiling positions Ferrari as the sixth team to showcase its 2026 colours, setting the stage for an intensely competitive year under drastically revised chassis, aerodynamic, and power unit rules designed to make Formula 1 more sustainable, efficient, and exciting.

Visually, the fresh new Ferrari 2026 F1 livery has captured global attention, departing from matte finish used for the past seven years in favor of a glossy red finish, accented by white elements that curve along the bodywork to evoke a connection between the team’s storied past and its future ambitions.

The design incorporates cleaner lines for reduced weight and improved efficiency, with a distinctive serrated shark fin on the engine cover extending rearward, a feature that stands out among early 2026 reveals.

Ferrari’s 2025 campaign served as a stark cautionary tale, with Lewis Hamilton enduring his first winless season and podium drought in his illustrious career following his switch from Mercedes, compounded by reliability woes and aerodynamic inconsistencies that hampered Charles Leclerc‘s title aspirations.

The team, burdened by immense pressure from its passionate tifosi fanbase, now views 2026 as a make-or-break opportunity, leveraging an ultra-focused development shift that began in April 2025 to prioritize the new regulations over late-season 2025 upgrades.

Team boss Fred Vasseur set an “aggressive” approach to development of the Ferrari 2026 F1 car, with final assembly planned to be completed on the eve of the launch and shakedown.

“The Ferrari SF-26 marks the beginning of a new era for both Formula 1 and Ferrari, with new regulations introduced in the same year for the chassis and the power unit, as well as new fuels and new tyre sizes,” Vasseur said at the launch.

“This car is the result of a tremendous team effort and represents the start of a completely new journey, built around a different set of rules that inevitably brings a number of unknowns.

“The team is aligned and more united than ever as we look ahead to the season. From next week in Barcelona, we will begin the process of understanding and validating the car.

“In this initial phase, the priority will be to learn as much as possible and to start building solid foundations ahead of the opening race.”

As teams converge on Barcelona for private testing next week—minus Williams—the Ferrari SF-26’s baseline form will evolve rapidly, with Bahrain pre-season tests expected to reveal major aero upgrades.
