Mercedes driver George Russell stormed to a dominant Singapore GP race win, sealing his second victory of the season and fifth of his Formula 1 career.
Behind Russell, Max Verstappen’s resilience kept Red Bull competitive as he maintained second place despite the bruising first lap and Norris’s onslaught.
Meanwhile, the McLaren team celebrated securing their 10th Constructors’ Championship and their first ever back-to-back titles since 1991, despite an early clash between teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri that added tension to an otherwise dominant campaign.
Piastri, although frustrated at his teammate’s aggressive move, secured fourth and held a 22-point lead in the drivers’ championship over Norris, setting up a tense rivalry for the title’s final stages.
Kimi Antonelli also delivered a standout performance for Mercedes by fighting back through the field after a less optimal start, ultimately securing a solid fifth-place finish with smart overtakes and resilient defense, including a notable move past Charles Leclerc in the later stages.
However, Leclerc’s Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton was slapped with a five-second time penalty post-race for exceeding track limits, dropping him down to eighth. Fernando Alonso benefitted from the penalty to finish seventh, showcasing Aston Martin’s strong form.
Haas driver Ollie Bearman managed to secure ninth place, adding valuable points in the Constructors’ standings, while Carlos Sainz recovered from Williams double disqualification in qualifying to round out the top ten.
