Max Verstappen dominated the streets of Baku to claim a lights-to-flag victory by a whooping 14s margin over George Russell who battled illness to finish second.
Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz sealed an extraordinary third-place finish, marking Williams’ first full race podium since 2021.
Through a combination of defensive driving and tactical pit stops, Sainz successfully held off fierce pressure from team Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli who finished fourth.
Midfield battles added further excitement with Liam Lawson in the Racing Bulls showing good pace to finish fifth ahead of Red Bull’s Yuki Tsunoda.
McLaren endured a disappointing race after Lando Norris struggled to advance from seventh following a slow pit stop, while his championship leading teammate Oscar Piastri crashed on the very first lap.
Lewis Hamilton finished eighth, just ahead of his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc and Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar, who continued to demonstrate his consistency by rounding out the top ten.
