The Cadillac F1 team has dismissed rumours linking Christian Horner to a potential leadership role within the organization as they prepare to enter Formula 1 as the 11th team next season.
Speculation had swirled around the motorsport circles following Horner’s surprising and abrupt dismissal from his long-held position as Red Bull Racing’s team principal.
After twenty years at Red Bull, where Horner oversaw an era of tremendous success with eight drivers’ championships and six constructors’ titles, his exit after the British Grand Prix left many wondering what his next move would be.
Recent reports suggested that Horner might be the ideal candidate for an influential management role at Cadillac’s new F1 entry, potentially providing critical experience and race-winning knowledge to a team that is venturing into Formula 1 for the first time.
This fueled a fair amount of excitement within the paddock and among fans, given the 51-year old’s reputation as one of the most accomplished and strategic principals in modern F1 history.
However, these rumours have now been officially quashed by the Cadillac F1 team and TWG Motorsports’ CEO Dan Towriss.
“There have been no talks with Christian Horner,” Towriss said. “No plans to do that. I’d like to officially shut down that rumor.”
Towriss went further to express his full backing for the current Cadillac team principal Graeme Lowdon, emphasizing that the team’s leadership and strategic direction rest fully in his capable hands.
He added: “Our support backing is 100% in Graeme Lowdon.”

Graeme Lowdon who brings valuable F1 experience and previously played a consulting role in the earlier Andretti-led American F1 initiative is tasked with overseeing the development and competitive performance of the team.
His leadership style and the team’s operational strategy emphasize a “mission control” framework designed to handle the logistical and hierarchical intricacies of working between different countries and technical sites.
“When it’s a multi-site like this, that becomes a massive challenge,” Lowdon said. “And what you can’t have is an engineer here having to go up and down a particular hierarchy and then hop across.
“In our instance, not just a different geographic location, but a different country altogether, and then go up and down. So instead, it’s a kind of a different structure where it’s mission control instead of command and control.”
Christian Horner’s future in Formula 1 remains uncertain. Although he is currently on gardening leave following his departure from Red Bull, and linked with potential comebacks in various reports including rumored interest to join Alpine as co-owner, no official moves have materialized.
