The Audi F1 Team has confirmed multi-year title sponsorship with financial technology powerhouse Revolut as the German automaker prepares to make 2026 Formula 1 debut.
The new partnership agreement signals a major evolution in both the commercial and operational dimensions of modern Formula 1 merging the cutting-edge worlds of automotive excellence and fintech innovation.
Audi’s journey toward the F1 arena has unfolded strategically and with precision. The German automotive titan first unveiled its ambitions during the 2022 Belgian Grand Prix, where it committed to entering the sport under the new technical regulations set for 2026 F1.
This heralded a new era of power units with an emphasized focus on electrical energy and sustainability, aligning perfectly with Audi’s brand ethos and long-term vision for mobility.
Since then, Audi has been methodically laying the groundwork, acquiring a majority stake in Sauber Motorsport, redesigning operational centers in both Hinwil, Switzerland and Bicester, Oxfordshire, and recruiting top-tier talent to steer the transition from Sauber’s previous iterations into a full-fledged Audi works team.
Central to Audi’s Formula 1 vision is the establishment of a robust partnership network and the arrival of Revolut as the team’s title sponsor, this goal is coming to life in dramatic fashion.
Revolut, a British fintech company lauded for its disruptive approach to global banking and digital payments, boasts over 60 million customers worldwide and commands a valuation above $45 billion.
The synergy between Audi and Revolut is no mere sponsorship—it is billed as a transformative, strategic alliance set to redefine fan engagement, technological integration, and operational efficiency within a top-tier motorsport framework.
“With Revolut, we have found a partner that shares our core ethos of innovation and relentless ambition,“ Sauber team boss Jonathan Wheatley said. “This is more than a brand fit; it is a strategic alliance, engineered to challenge conventions in motorsport.
“From 2026, Revolut’s digital-first solutions will power key areas of our operations while also redefining how fans and communities engage with our team – delivering a seamless and engaging experience on and off the track.”
Revolut CEO Nik Storonsky added: “This is a monumental partnership for Revolut and the future Audi F1 Team. We’re accelerating towards 100 million customers, and we’ll be bringing them into Formula 1 with unforgettable experiences at a pivotal time for the sport.
“As Revolut continues to challenge the status quo in global finance, the future Audi F1 Team is set to do the same in motorsport.
“With a shared outlook, global ambition and relentless drive for progress, this partnership will define what’s possible in Formula 1.”

A notable strength of the new Audi F1 Team lies in its leadership, which has been reinforced by notable industry appointments. Former Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto takes on the role of Chief Technical Officer, while Jonathan Wheatley steps in as Team Principal.
Under their guidance, Sauber’s recent renaissance is palpable: the team achieved a string of consecutive points-scoring results and most notably, a long-awaited podium finish at the F1 British Grand Prix, the first for the squad since 2012.
Such performance boosts provide a critical foundation as the team prepares its transformation into Audi F1 and faces the new regulatory and competitive frontiers of 2026 F1.
On the driver front, Audi will make its inaugural grid appearance with a formidable pairing: Nico Hülkenberg and reigning Formula 2 champion Gabriel Bortoleto.
Signed on multi-year deals, they combine proven F1 experience with youthful exuberance, providing the ideal blend for a team seeking both stability and growth.
In the current 2025 Formula 1 standings, the pair has already delivered impressive results, amassing 43 points mid-season—marking Sauber’s best result since 2022 and fueling optimism for Audi’s debut year.
