Home hero Marco Bezzecchi took advantage of Marc Marquez‘s fall from the lead and proceeded to claim his first sprint victory of the season.
Meanwhile, Alex Marquez had to settle for second place, just a second behind the leading Aprilia, after his final attack fell short of claiming the top spot.
Fabio di Giannantonio marked his third sprint podium of the season, while his VR46 Racing teammate Franco Morbidelli claimed a respectable fourth-place finish just over a second behind.
KTM’s Pedro Acosta delivered a strong fifth place after holding off fellow rookie Fermin Aldeguer who mounted a remarkable charge from 10th to finish sixth.
Luca Marini marked the leading Honda in seventh as reigning world champion Jorge Martin and Trackhouse’s Raul Fernandez rounded out the points.
Pecco Bagnaia continued to struggle down in 13th, while Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo crashed out from fourth place on lap five along with KTM’s Brad Binder.
