2026 British MotoGP Race Results: Raul Fernandez wins as Ai Ogura crashes

Raul Fernandez delivered a dominant lights-to-flag victory at the 2026 British MotoGP, leading another breathtaking Aprilia podium lockout at Silverstone.

Fernandez rebounded from his Saturday sprint crash by leading every lap to finish 2.538 seconds clear of championship leader Jorge Martin, with Marco Bezzecchi completing the podium.

The result also made Fernandez the 12th different grand prix winner at Silverstone in a row, after surviving the dramatic 20-lap race that claimed several riders including Trackhouse Aprilia teammate Ai Ogura.

When the lights went out, polesitter Martin struggled to disengage his ride height device and found himself shuffled back in the opening scramble, dropping behind both Bezzecchi and a fast-starting Marc Marquez.

It was Fernandez, however, who exploited the chaos at the front with clinical precision at Turn 1, grabbing the holeshot from second on the grid and immediately began to pull away from the field.

Ogura also suffered a slow start, allowing Bezzecchi and Alex Marquez through, before Martin, Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta dropped the Japanese rider to seventh by the end of the opening lap.

Further back, Joan Mir and Alex Rins became entangled at Turn 7, sending both crashing across the Silverstone asphalt as the FIM Stewards took no further action.

By the fifth lap, Fernandez had stretched the gap to three seconds over Bezzecchi, who himself was holding a comfortable enough buffer over the rest of the field.

More incidents rocked the race: Enea Bastianini crashed at Turn 17 on Lap 6, followed by Iker Lecuona at Turn 12 with Cal Crutchlow also tumbling at Turn 6 on the following lap. Francesco Bagnaia then crashed his factory Ducati at Turn 7 on Lap 8.

Martin, meanwhile, closed in on Bezzecchi who was struggling with fatigue from his lingering injury and eventually pulled off a move on Lap 9 to take second.

Shortly afterwards, Ai Ogura crashed at the final chicane on Lap 10, bringing his Grand Prix to an end.

Alex Marquez also passed Bezzecchi for third but made a mistake at Copse, dropping back to sixth. The Spaniard recovered quickly with a move past Pedro Acosta and Marc Marquez to finish as the top Ducati rider in fourth-place.

Martin slowly reduced Fernandez’s lead in the closing stages but was unable to get close enough to attempt a pass, and Fernandez ultimately crossed the line first to claim victory at the 2026 British MotoGP.

Bezzecchi finished third to seal another Aprilia podium lockout at Silverstone, followed by Alex and Acosta in fourth and fifth, respectively.

VR46 Ducati’s Fabio Di Giannantonio came home sixth ahead of Marc Marquez in a disappointing seventh, with Brad Binder, Luca Marini and Diogo Moreira wrapping up the top 10.
