
Marc Marquez sealed the double at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix after overcoming a tense duel against Pedro Acosta as Balaton Park delivered one of the most dramatic and emotionally charged races in recent MotoGP history.
The seven-time premier world champion initially lost the lead to Acosta but clawed the top spot halfway through the race and proceeded claim victory by 1.3 seconds, marking his 100th career grand prix win.
Acosta finished second, 10.2 seconds clear of Marquez’s Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia, who secured the last step on the podium.
Ai Ogura came through to fourth place late on and salvaged a disappointing race for Aprilia after factory stablemates Jorge Martin and championship leader Marco Bezzecchi crashed out of the race on the first lap.
Luca Marini delivered his best Honda finish in fifth place, followed by LCR counterpart and rookie Diogo Moreira who also grabbed his best ever MotoGP result in sixth.
Iker Lecuona standing in for the injured Alex Marquez delivered a phenomenal effort to secure seventh place, while Pramac’s Jack Miller led the Yamahas in eighth place, marking the Australian’s first top ten of the year after running as high as fourth early in the race.
Enea Bastianini brushed off two long lap penalties to take ninth on his Tech3 KTM as factory stablemate Brad Binder made it three KTMs in the top ten.
