Reigning world champion Marc Marquez and teammate Francesco Bagnaia officially unveiled a retro-inspired Ducati 2026 MotoGP livery to celebrate the manufacturer’s centenary year since founding.
The reveal took place during a high-profile launch event in Madonna di Campiglio, nestled in the Italian Dolomites, where the team showcased not just the aesthetics but also teased significant technical advancements for the upcoming season.
The new color scheme, featuring a return to Ducati‘s iconic white racing stripes over a darker shade of red, evokes the brand’s storied racing heritage and signals the Italian squad’s intent to dominate the final year of the current 1000cc regulations before the shift to 850cc engines in 2027.
Diving deeper into the fresh Ducati 2026 MotoGP livery, the white racing stripes represent more than nostalgia; they symbolize the marque’s evolution from its road-racing roots to a MotoGP powerhouse.
Historically, the team sported white as a base color in its early MotoGP forays before transitioning to an all-red scheme from 2019 onward, making this reversion a deliberate nod to legacy amid the centenary festivities.
The darker red base provides a bolder canvas, enhancing visibility on track while integrating seamlessly with the GP26’s evolved aerodynamics, including refined winglets and fairing shapes optimized for high-speed stability.
Sponsor integrations, particularly Lenovo’s branding, are amplified through strategic placement, ensuring the livery serves dual purposes: branding prowess and on-circuit intimidation.
“We took inspiration from colours from our past,” said Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali. “I think the statistic that stands out for me is 88 consecutive podiums.
“The will to continue getting these results is very motivating. And, as Gigi always says, every season starts from zero points.”
Marc Marquez, fresh off securing his seventh premier-class world title in 2025 with 11 Grand Prix victories, praised the design’s weighty symbolism.
“Always a fast bike is a nice bike! This is the key point,” Marquez said. “We will see in the pre-season, but the design is super nice and we will try to perform in the best way to celebrate the centenary for Ducati.”
Two-time champion Francesco Bagnaia, who endured a challenging year finishing fifth, shared Marquez’s enthusiasm.
“I told Claudio that this is the best looking bike I rode from 2021, when I’m in the factory team,” added Bagnaia. “The livery is fantastic, I really like it. Red and white is a great combination.”
