The new leader entering the Round of 12 is Denny Hamlin who has surged to the top with a total of 3,034 points and is 26 points above the cutline – buoyed by his recent victory at World Wide Technology Raceway.
Hot on his heels is Hendrick Motorsports duo Kyle Larson and William Byron sitting at 3,032 points, just 2 points shy of Hamlin, maintaining a solid cushion of 24 points above the cutline.
Christopher Bell, with his breakthrough win at Bristol, has amassed 3,028 points and holds a 20-point advantage over the cutoff.
Following closely is Ryan Blaney, who has accrued 3,027 points, sitting 19 above the cutline, and Chase Briscoe with 3,018 points, comfortably 10 points above the threshold.
Chase Elliott currently sits in seventh with 3,013 points, just 5 points above the cutline, while Bubba Wallace barely holds onto the cutoff line with 3,009 points, a slender 1-point lead.
Below the cutline and fighting for advancement into the Round of 8 are Austin Cindric (3,008 points, 1 point below cutline), Joey Logano (3,007 points, 2 points below), Ross Chastain (3,007 points, 2 points below), and Tyler Reddick (3,006 points, 3 points below).
Saturday’s Bristol race also saw the elimination of four notable playoff drivers: Alex Bowman, Austin Dillon, Shane van Gisbergen, and Josh Berry.
Josh Berry faced a tough night as his car caught fire early in the race, forcing a retirement and effectively ending his championship aspirations.
Similarly, Dillon and van Gisbergen’s finishes were not enough to keep pace with the points threshold required to move forward. Bowman fell short by just 10 points despite finishing eighth in the race.
As the Round of 12 unfolds, drivers will head to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the Mobil 1 301.
