2026 Czech MotoGP FP1 Results: Marc Marquez leads Fabio Quartararo despite late crash

Marc Marquez topped the timesheets in opening practice for the 2026 Czech MotoGP despite suffering a late crash.

Marquez picked up exactly where he left off in Hungary by setting the fastest time in Friday’s FP1 at Brno, posting a rapid 1:53.303 that saw him top the session by two tenths of a second over Yamaha’s Fabio Quartararo, who took a surprise second.

The seven-time MotoGP world champion took control midway through the running and remained as the man to beat even after a nervous lowside at Turn 7 with just two minutes to go.

Trackhouse Aprilia’s Raul Fernandez claimed the third fastest lap, just ahead of Honda’s Joan Mir, while Ai Ogura made it two Aprilias in the top five.

Factory Ducati rider Francesco Bagnaia was sixth followed by fellow stablemates Fermin Aldeguer and Fabio Di Giannantonio in seventh and eighth respectively to underline the Bologna manufacturer’s strong presence at Brno.

Pedro Acosta finished as the top KTM rider in ninth despite an early fall into the gravel trap at Turn 9, while Luca Marini wrapped up the top ten.

Acosta’s stablemate Maverick Vinales also fell after losing the front end of his Tech3 RC16 into Turn 8, while LCR rookie Diogo Moreira crashed at the same spot shortly after, damaging his Honda.
