Marc Marquez clawed 25 points out of Marco Bezzecchi’s championship lead after cruising to a dominant win at the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix.
The seven-time MotoGP world champion beat KTM’s Pedro Acosta by just fifty-three milliseconds to claim his first grand prix victory of the season after returning from shoulder surgery.
Bezzecchi’s commanding lead was significantly reduced after a catastrophic Turn 1 collision from Aprilia team-mate and nearest title rival Jorge Martin eliminated both riders from the race.
Fabio di Giannantonio remains in third place, but Acosta has surged dramatically into fourth, just 48 points behind the leader, following his runner-up finish to Marquez.
The most sensational mover in the standings is Marquez who has jumped from eighth to fifth place after his triumph at Balaton Park, now just 72 points behind Bezzecchi, reigniting what initially appeared to be a hopeless championship challenge.
Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia climbs to seventh with 99 points, having moved ahead of Raul Fernandez who dropped three positions to eighth following his elimination in the Turn 1 crash.
