The session saw McLaren’s Lando Norris continue his dominant form by topping the timesheets once again with a flawless lap of 1:09.890, narrowly edging out Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso, who impressed by splitting the McLaren pair, finishing just 0.087 seconds adrift.
Meanwhile, current championship leader Oscar Piastri completed the top three, a mere two thousandths of a second behind Alonso, underscoring the razor-thin margins at play in Zandvoort.
Mercedes’ George Russell posted the fourth-fastest time in a session where he narrowly avoided a pit lane collision with Piastri, while Red Bull’s Max Verstappen rounded out the top five.
Lewis Hamilton managed a respectable sixth-place finish amid several spins, just ahead of his fellow Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc in eighth, with Verstappen’s teammate Yuki Tsunoda splitting the duo in seventh.
Alpine’s Franco Colapinto delivered a strong ninth, pacing ahead of the experienced Sauber driver Nico Hulkenberg in tenth.
