Marc Marquez overpowered Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia and repelled a charging Ai Ogura to win the 2026 Czech Grand Prix at Autodrom Brno.
The reigning MotoGP champion passed Bagnaia with eight laps to go and held off a late attempt from Trackhouse Aprilia’s Ogura to the checkered flag by half a second, marking his second straight victory.
This vaulted Marquez to within 40 points of championship leader Marco Bezzecchi, who was suspended from the remainder of the weekend after striking a track marshal following Saturday’s sprint crash.
From the start, polesitter Ogura led the field into Turn 1 as Marquez and Bagnaia moved up to second and third after Fabio Di Giannantonio slowed off the line, dropping to fifth.
Bagnaia battled his teammate over the next couple of turns and got past for second, before overcoming Ogura into Turn 10 on Lap 2 to take the lead. Marquez followed through shortly after, demoting the Trackhouse rider to third as the Ducatis pulled away from the rest of the field.

Aprilia’s Jorge Martin served his double long lap penalty on Laps 5 and 6, dropping 13th, just ahead of Fabio Quartararo who later crashed out of the race after losing the front of his Yamaha at Turn 8.
Marquez kept up the pressure on Bagnaia, with the Spaniard closing the gap to less than two tenths by Lap 11. Ogura followed in a distant third, while Pedro Acosta ran wide into Turn 7 on Lap 12, losing fourth to Di Giannantonio.
The factory Ducati duel boiled over on Lap 14 before Marquez finally pulled off his move past Bagnaia at Turn 5 on Lap 15 to secure the lead. Marquez proceeded to stretch the gap to half a second, while Bagnaia found himself defending against Ogura before giving up second place with five laps to go.
Ogura closed the gap to Marquez in half over the next laps, and was within striking distance on the final tour but the reigning MotoGP champion held on to secure his second victory of the season.
Meanwhile, KTM’s Pedro Acosta was forced to retire from fifth on the final lap due to a technical issue, similar to his sprint heartbreak.
