VR46 Ducati rider Fabio Di Giannantonio clinched pole position with a blistering lap time of 1:17.410 amid a dramatic late crash, beating Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi by just 0.070 seconds.
Defending champion Marc Marquez, meanwhile, clawed back to a front-row third, just 0.081s behind Di Giannantonio, despite crashing on his very first flying lap at the notorious Turn 4.
Fabio Quartararo pulled off some “magic” on the Yamaha Factory machine to grab fourth, heading Row 2 alongside Jorge Martin in fifth and his Aprilia stablemate Ai Ogura in sixth.
Further down the order, Fermin Aldeguer impressed in seventh on his return from injury, beating Gresini Ducati teammate Alex Marquez by just 0.084 seconds, as both riders capitalized on the Desmosedici’s superior power delivery despite the chaos.
KTM’s Pedro Acosta bit the dust in the slippery conditions, ending up ninth, while Johann Zarco scraped into tenth for LCR Honda, heading Row 4 alongside Francesco Bagnaia and Toprak Razgatlioglu.
