Cadillac dominated the session as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship teams fine-tuned their setups ahead of the iconic Rolex 24 Hours endurance race scheduled for next weekend.
Filipe Albuquerque seized control midway through the 60-minute window, extracting a perfectly balanced lap of 1:36.731 in the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac V-Series.R, albeit not faster than Nasr’s first session flyer in the No.7 Porsche.
Just 0.112 seconds adrift in second was Kevin Estre aboard the No. 6 Porsche Penske 963, the Frenchman’s effort demonstrating the team’s consistency after Vanthoor’s dominance in Test Session 3.
Jack Aitken slotted the No.31 Action Express Racing Cadillac into third, just a quarter-second adrift, followed by Nico Pino in the No.85 JDC-Miller Motorsports Porsche and Louis Deletraz in the No.40 WTR Cadillac V-Series.R.
The Heart of Racing Aston Martin Valkyrie was the only car missing in the GTP timesheets as the team continues to swap out its engine.
In LMP2, United Autosports dominated the fourth session with Ben Hanley’s stunning 1:39.922, eclipsing Sebastien Bourdais in the No. 8 Tower Motorsports Oreca by just 0.121s, as the latter rebounded from an earlier technical inspection hiccup that cost them session time.
Paul Di Resta elevated the sister No. 22 United Autosports Oreca to third in class, just 0.056 behind Bourdais.
The GTD and GTD Pro categories ignited with GT3 fireworks as Romain Grosjean’s No.16 Riley Technologies Mustang GT3 topped the fourth Roar Before the Rolex 24 test at Daytona with a 1:47.667, eclipsing the pro ranks.
Nicky Catsburg’s No.4 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was the fastest GTD Pro entry, followed by Chris Mies in the No. 65 Multimatic Ford Mustang matching time with the No.70 Inception Racing Ferrari driven by Ollie Millroy.
