Ryan Blaney held off Daniel Suarez, Justin Haley, and Cole Custer in a grandiose four-wide finish to win the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona, capping off the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series regular season.
Held on August 23 at the iconic 2.5-mile superspeedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, this race was the 26th and final event of the regular season, making it a crucial battleground for drivers aiming to secure their spot in the coveted NASCAR Cup Playoffs.
With a field of seasoned veterans and hungry contenders, the event did not disappoint, culminating in a dramatic last-lap showdown that saw Ryan Blaney emerge victorious in one of the most exciting finishes the race has witnessed in years.

On the final lap, Blaney utilized a critical push from Daniel Suarez and expertly side-drafted Cole Custer while covering the top line where Suarez and Justin Haley were positioned.
The four-wide battle to the finish line saw Blaney edge ahead by a mere 0.031 seconds to claim his second victory of the 2025 season and his second at Daytona.

“What a wild last couple laps, honestly,” said Blaney after winning the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona. “I was with Cole, I kind of asked him on the restart, if you go to the top I’m going with you.
“We kind of just waited and waited and then the opportunity came and he made a good move to get to the top, and we were able to really get good shows.”
Blaney’s victory promoted him to second in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series regular season standings and awarded him five playoff points which elevated him to fourth in the Playoffs rankings, setting him up as a formidable contender heading into the postseason.
Meanwhile, Daniel Suarez finished second ahead of Justin Haley in third, while Cole Custer and Erik Jones rounded out the top five.
For those chasing the NASCAR Cup playoffs, the stakes could not have been higher. With Blaney’s win denying a new winner’s automatic entry the final playoff grid was largely determined by points.
Tyler Reddick and Alex Bowman secured the last two remaining spots in the 16-driver playoff field. Reddick withstood a wreck to finish 21st, while Bowman was unfortunately caught in a severe multi-car collision in the early stage that ended his race prematurely.
