Felipe Nasr maintained Porsche Penske Motorsport’s dominant form by topping the timesheets in practice 2 for the IMSA Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
The Brazilian’s benchmark 1:47.043 lap in the No. 7 Porsche 963 came in the heat of Thursday afternoon and stood as the reference as the field cycled through long-run evaluations, qualifying simulations, and late-session traffic.
Practice 2 unfolded in classic Sebring fashion, beginning with teams focused on banking early laps before the track rubbered in and the bumps and traffic began to dictate rhythm more than outright pace.
Porsche Penske sent Felipe Nasr out in a balance of performance-checked 963 that had already shown speed earlier in the day, and the crew quickly worked through an initial run on full tanks to get a read on balance over Sebring’s notorious concrete slabs.
After a systems check and a small round of tweaks to brake bias and traction control mapping, the No. 7 dove back into the session as temperatures began to stabilize, and Nasr delivered what would be the lap of the afternoon, extracting grip on a circuit that punishes even minor mistakes.
Hot on Nasr’s heels was Tom Blomqvist in the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06, posting a 1:47.302—just 0.259 seconds adrift—as the team guns for victory at 2026 IMSA Sebring 12 Hours.
Jack Aitken paced his No. 31 Action Express Racing Cadillac V-Series.R to a late-session improvement to take third, making it three different manufacturers in the top-three.
Nasr’s teammate Kevin Estre in the No. 6 Porsche 963, slipped to fourth on the time sheets with a 1:47.461, but still kept clear of Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillacs of Filipe Albuquerque and Louis Deletraz, respectively.
Renger van der Zande was seventh in the No. 93 MSR Acura, while Kaylen Frederik followed closely in eighth aboard the JDC-Miller Motorsports Porsche.
The two Team WRT BMW M Hybrid V8s and lone Heart of Racing Aston Martin Valkyrie rounded out the 11-car class.
The LMP2 class had its own share of drama during Sebring practice 2, particularly in the Bronze-rated driver-only opening segment where traffic management and incident avoidance were at least as important as securing a representative lap time.
Early in the session, Tobi Lütke’s No. 18 TDS Racing Oreca 07 became an unexpected focal point when it collected a loose WeatherTech banner on track, forcing the crew to respond quickly as the material compromised airflow.
Pratt Miller Motorsports faced a different type of challenge with the No. 73 machine which encountered fuel‑cell issues that limited its effective running, while the No. 79 JDC‑Miller Motorsports entry was hit with a 60‑minute stop‑and‑hold penalty for technical non‑compliance.
The No. 99 AO Racing Oreca of Dane Cameron which was repaired following PJ Hyett’s heavy accident in opening practice, ultimately set the benchmark.
Tom Dillmann in the No. 43 Inter Europol Competition snagged the second fastest lap, just 0.056 seconds off Cameron, while Sebastian Alvarez paced the No. 8 Tower Motorsports to third.
In GTD Pro, the No. 77 AO Racing Porsche was once again the fastest with Sebring rookie Harry King posting a time of 2:00.070, followed by Dean MacDonald in the No. 59 RLL Team McLaren and the No. 62 Risi Competizione Ferrari.
Dudu Barrichello’s No. 27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin bested the entire GT field with a 2:00.029, while the No. 57 Winward Racing Mercedes of Philip Ellis took second in class, 0.535 seconds adrift.
