Check out the new 2026 MotoGP Championship standings after US Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, round 3 of 22.
COTA delivered another masterclass in elite motorcycle racing as the season reached its third round and when the dust had settled on Sunday’s main event, the title picture had shifted once again with dramatic effect.
Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi sealed a commanding victory at Americas GP to reclaim the championship lead — his fifth consecutive Grand Prix win and third successive triumph of the current season — in what is rapidly becoming one of the most dominant individual streaks the premier class has witnessed in recent memory.
Bezzecchi led an Aprilia one-two finish with team-mate Jorge Martin getting the better of KTM’s Pedro Acosta for second place.
The result was particularly significant for Bezzecchi given that Martin had briefly led the championship standings following his Saturday Sprint victory, making Sunday’s main race a direct and decisive showdown between the two riders.
At the top of the updated standings, Bezzecchi leads on 81 points, just four ahead of Martín, while Acosta sits third on 60 points, ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio on 50 and Marc Márquez on 45.
The gap between championship leader and reigning world champion Márquez already stands at 36 points after just three rounds, a significant deficit that will demand an immediate response from the Ducati rider if his title defense is to remain credible heading into the European swing of the season.
