Corey Heim outdueled 23XI Racing teammate Tyler Reddick to claim his first NASCAR Cup Series victory at the inaugural San Diego street race at Naval Base Coronado.
The Georgia native snatched the lead from Reddick with three laps to go and rallied the No. 67 Mobil 1 Toyota to victory, marking a monumental milestone in what will be his breakthrough season before transitioning to full-time competition next year.
“I’m speechless,” Heim said. “We started the race, I think we started 13, and we fell straight back to like 20th, then put on our scuffs from qualifying and struggled just as bad. I don’t know if we made any adjustments, but Bootie [Barker] kept telling me that these were our worst-used sets of tires, and we were going to be just fine. He was right. I couldn’t believe it. We strapped another set of tires on it, and we were just fine. I hit the wall a couple of times, and maybe it knocked some good into the car.
“I have no idea. After stage two, I took a deep breath and was like I have really high expectations coming into this race – it’s an even playing field for me, you don’t see that every day for a young driver like myself – and reset and went after it. I caught a couple breaks with some of the good guys wrecking out, but they don’t ask how, just how many.”

New 2026 NASCAR Cup points standings after San Diego Anduril 250
The race featured seven cautions and 20 lead changes among 13 drivers, demonstrating the competitive nature of the street course.
Ryan Blaney dominated Stage 1, while Ryan Preece took control of Stage 2, putting together a remarkable turnaround after four consecutive races of single-digit points.
The race complexion changed dramatically on Lap 32 restart when Austin Hill locked up his rear brakes while leading alongside Connor Zilisch and ran him into the Turn 1 wall, resulting to a multi-car pileup that eliminated both leaders along with pole-sitter Shane van Gisbergen.
The final 12 laps of the Anduril 250 produced the most memorable battle as Heim and Reddick established themselves at the front off the final restart, completely gapping the rest of the field.

Heim would later begin to challenge Reddick with three laps to go in what became an intense duel between the 23XI Racing teammates.
Heim overtook Reddick, who crossed over to his left in an attempt to reclaim the lead but he couldn’t make the move stick, and the two cars collided in the process. Heim went wide after contact, which forced Reddick to slow and hand the position back.
However, Tyler Reddick punctured his left-front tire shortly after, which caused him to dramatically drop to 25th and the writing was on the wall Corey Heim seals first NASCAR Cup win.
“He didn’t do anything wrong,” said Reddick. “He raced me really clean. He got the lead fair and square, and I just overdid it. I didn’t have much left, and I just made some bad decisions today, pretty much all day long.
“I certainly overdid it and ran him into the wall, and initiated the contact. Everything. So, yeah, just not the way you should race a teammate. One hundred percent not the way you should race.”
Bubba Wallace ended up finishing second after Reddick’s misfortune despite a major setback earlier in the race.
Wallace was slapped with a two-lap penalty when he lost the right front wheel at Turn 9 on Lap 19. However, he mounted a remarkable comeback to score a career-best finish on a road course.
