2025 Italian MotoGP Qualifying Results and starting grid

Full 2025 Italian MotoGP Qualifying Results and starting gridMarc Marquez edged Francesco Bagnaia in a nail-biting finale at Mugello to secure a landmark pole position.

The qualifying session began with high tension as riders immediately pushed the limits in pursuit of the crucial front-row grid slots for the sprint race.

Marc Marquez set the early benchmark, utilizing a strategic tow from his younger brother Alex. The slipstream allowed Marquez to maximize his speed on Mugello’s long main straight, giving him a crucial edge in the opening exchanges.

However, the session was far from settled as Fabio Quartararo – cleared to ride after a heavy crash on Friday that resulted in a partial shoulder dislocation – briefly claimed the top spot.

Francesco Bagnaia, buoyed by his home support and recent improvements with the GP25 Ducati, responded emphatically. On his final flying lap, the Italian rider dipped under the previous lap record igniting the grandstands with hopes of another Italian pole.

Yet, as the clock ticked down, Marc Marquez delivered a stunning lap of 1:44.169 to set a new all-time lap record at Mugello and claim pole position, beating Francesco Bagnaia by a razor-thin margin of just 0.059 seconds.

This achievement marked Marquez’s 100th career pole across all classes, a milestone that further cements his legacy as one of the sport’s greats.

Meanwhile, Alex Marquez completed a Ducati front row lockout, finishing just 0.083 seconds behind his brother.

Fabio Quartararo despite his injuries secured fourth place ahead of Maverick Viñales who emerged as the top KTM representative, placing his Red Bull KTM Tech3 machine in fifth.

The much-heralded KTM rookie Pedro Acosta could only manage eighth after a promising Friday. Alex Rins placed his Monster Yamaha in ninth ahead of Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi who once again found one-lap pace elusive and had to settle for tenth.
