Bubba Wallace expresses concern over NASCAR Netflix docuseries

Bubba Wallace is concerned that certain drivers won’t be themselves during the filming of Netflix docuseries based on the upcoming NASCAR Cup playoffs.

A new racing series will debut on Netflix under the production of Dale Earnhardt Jr. premiering 2024, according to NASCAR.

Although the series is currently in production, one driver believes that certain drivers won’t show their true personalities while being filmed.

Bubba Wallace worries that certain drivers won’t show their true personalities during filming of the series. Wallace believes that the best content will emerge when drivers are just being genuine.

“I was like, ‘look, guys, it’s only going to work if you’re yourself, if you want to shut down and say, the car was fast, car was loose, car was tight, then it’s a waste of time’,” he told Netflix.

“You know, everybody is not okay with being around cameras, right?”

“If you’re in there just a cardboard cookie cutter cutout, then it’s just like, ‘this isn’t real, this isn’t, you’ and a lot of people struggle with that,” he said.

“I hope people that are a part of it can be themselves and enjoy it and not be so buttoned up. Hell, who wants to be but buttoned up anyways. Right. So lame.”

Fans will see a side of the sport they haven’t seen before, which may make this series incredibly enjoyable. Hopefully, drivers and their crew will heed Wallace’s suggestion and be themselves.
