Alpine’s all-pink livery has made a striking return for the final three races of the 2024 F1 season starting with the highly anticipated Las Vegas Grand Prix.
This bold move comes after a successful double podium finish at the São Paulo Grand Prix, where drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly secured second and third places, respectively.
The Enstone-based outfit’s resurgence in form has elevated them to sixth place in the Constructors’ Championship, creating excitement and optimism as they head into the concluding races of the season.
The decision behind the return of Alpine’s all-pink livery is closely tied to the team’s title partner, BWT, which has been a significant presence on the team’s cars since 2022. This partnership has allowed Alpine to experiment with various liveries over recent seasons, including a predominantly pink design at select Grands Prix.
The upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix will not only showcase this vibrant color scheme but also serve as a visual spectacle against the backdrop of the neon lights that define the Las Vegas Strip Circuit.
Throughout 2024 F1, Alpine has employed a mix of liveries, including their traditional blue and black designs. However, the latest iteration of Alpine’s all-pink livery marks a departure from previous versions by featuring a more prominent use of pink with less black.
This design change is intended to make a statement on the track and align with their branding strategy while enhancing visibility during night races.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix is particularly significant for Alpine as they aim to maintain their momentum from Brazil. Ocon expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Las Vegas, recalling last year’s impressive performance where he climbed from 16th on the grid to finish fourth.
“We are heading back to Las Vegas for the second year, and I am really looking forward to it,” said Ocon. “We had a great result there last season, going from 16th on the grid to fourth at the chequered flag.
“The circuit is incredible to drive with all the drivers going flat out for a high percentage of each lap. Driving through the heart of the city is like no other. There are night races under the lights and then there is a night race under the lights of Las Vegas.
“The aim will be to keep the momentum going from São Paulo and maximise the weekend to hold our P6 position in the championship.”
Gasly echoed these sentiments noting that while last year presented challenges in terms of tyre management due to colder conditions, he remains optimistic about achieving strong results in this year’s race.
“It’s really exciting to be heading back to Las Vegas,” he said. “The championship battle remains close for P6 and we want to hold on to our position so we need to make sure we execute everything in the best possible way.
“We’ve proved that we can qualify well and fight for points in the races and that’s our target in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. It’ll be a challenge, but the team have been exceptional and I really think we can do it.
“Last year we qualified well in Las Vegas, but the race was difficult for my side of the garage especially with tyre management.
“The late start time for the sessions and the colder weather makes it a complicated event for tyre warm-up which will be interesting again, but I must say, I had a lot of fun driving the circuit last year.
“I’m looking forward to more of the same this time and we have our eyes on another good performance.”
As Alpine prepares for this crucial phase in the championship, they face stiff competition from rival teams such as Haas and VCARB, who are also vying for points in the Constructors’ standings.
With only three races left, every point counts, making strategic execution during qualifying and race day essential for the team’s success.
The team’s recent performances have demonstrated their capability to qualify well and compete for points consistently, which will be pivotal in securing their position in the championship.
The excitement surrounding the Las Vegas Grand Prix is amplified by the fact that several teams are expected to unveil special liveries for this event. Besides Alpine’s all-pink livery, Sauber is set to debut a flame-inspired green livery while Williams will feature subtle modifications to their design.
