Denny Hamlin made an epic recovery from the rear to claim his second consecutive NASCAR Cup Series victory on Sunday at Michigan International Speedway.
Hamlin, who was forced to start from the bottom of the grid after making overnight repairs to the underbody of his No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, drove to a flawless 63rd career win, tying the late Kyle Busch for ninth on NASCAR’s all-time list.
Hamlin crossed the line 11.1 seconds ahead of his closest challenger Erik Jones in the No. 43 Legacy Motor Club Toyota, while Bubba Wallace rounded out an all-Toyota podium in the No. 23.
Kyle Larson finished fourth followed by Carson Hocevar in fifth, with Daniel Suárez, Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, Chris Buescher and Chase Briscoe wrapping up the top 10.
