Marc Marquez topped the timesheets with a benchmark lap time of 1:57.018 aboard his Ducati GP26, marking a strong return to full MotoGP action following his crash in Indonesia last October.
Ducati’s satellite efforts shone brightly as VR46’s Fabio Di Giannantonio slotted into second, just 21 thousandths further back, while Maverick Vinales claimed third on the Tech3 KTM RC16.
Gresini’s Alex Marquez held the top spot for much of the afternoon before the leading trio relegated him to fourth with their final runs. He traded blows with Aprilia’s Marco Bezzecchi who rounded out the top five on the new RS-GP26.
Honda delivered a standout factory effort with Luca Marini clocking the sixth fastest lap, edging teammate Joan Mir by a tenth in seventh.
Francesco Bagnaia managed eighth, 0.702s adrift his Ducati teammate, while Fabio Quartararo‘s day on the new Yamaha V4 ended prematurely in ninth after a high-speed crash.
