Jaguar’s Mitch Evans edged Porsche duo Nico Muller and Pascal Wehrlein to claim victory at the Formula E Miami E-Prix, breaking the record for most wins in the series.
Starting from ninth on the grid, the Kiwi showcased impeccable strategy, energy management, and opportunistic overtakes to surge through the field, marking his 15th career win in the all-electric series and first points of the season for Jaguar TCS.
The race, held at the Miami International Autodrome as the third round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship Season 12, unfolded under treacherous slippery conditions prompting safety car deployment for five laps due to standing water.
When the lights went out, the pack surged into Turn 1 under damp conditions, with polesitter Nico Müller holding his lead adeptly as Felipe Drugovich of Andretti seized an aggressive early Attack Mode on lap 5 to vault into first using the all-wheel-drive boost.
Mitch Evans, meanwhile, methodically picked off cars in the midfield, conserving energy while others gambled on power surges amid variable grip levels that sent several drivers aquaplaning through high-speed sections.
By lap 10, the order stabilized with Drugovich leading Müller, but shadows of impending drama loomed as Jaguar’s António Félix da Costa pressured the Brazilian from behind.

Pascal Wehrlein in the sister Porsche carved through the field from 11th, his superior wet-weather setup allowing clean passes on Nyck de Vries and Sébastien Buemi early on.
At the front, Drugovich traded the lead with Mueller in a fierce duel, their back-and-forth accelerating energy consumption and opening doors for Wehrlein and De Vries.
The turning point of the race came on lap 26 at the heavy braking zone of Turn 13 where Drugovich braked late in pursuit of more pace but locked up, collecting da Costa in a collision that scattered debris and triggered the second safety car.
Da Costa pitted for a new front wing but incurred a 10-second penalty, dropping him to eighth by race end despite a gritty recovery drive that netted four points for Jaguar.
This incident handed the lead back to Müller, who regained control with precise energy deployment, building a small buffer as the track began to dry unevenly, creating a chess match of Attack Mode timings.
However, a couple of turns later after the restart on lap 27 Evans executed a masterful switchback feint on Müller, diving inside under braking to snatch the lead with a move that echoed his Berlin masterclass from the previous year.
From that point Evans gradually extended his advantage as the laps wore on, ultimately taking the checkered flag 3.1s clear of Mueller, who nursed his Porsche to second for a double podium sweep with Wehrlein third.
Envision’s Joel Eriksson delivered a standout performance in fourth, starting strongly and holding position through the wet phases with smart overtakes on Buemi and Mortara, finishing 12.394s back and earning 12 valuable points in a breakout drive for the Swedish squad.
Mahindra Racing enjoyed a solid day with de Vries in fifth after battling wheel-to-wheel with Eriksson, and Edoardo Mortara in sixth.
Buemi took seventh for Envision, ahead of da Costa’s penalty-hit recovery to eighth for Jaguar TCS, while Cupra’s Pep Martí and Andretti’s Jake Dennis rounded out the top ten.
Further back, Lola’s Zane Maloney held 11th in a damage-limitation drive, followed by reigning world champion Oliver Rowland, who struggled with understeer in the drying conditions.
Lucas di Grassi managed 13th ahead DS Penske’s Taylor Barnard and Citroën’s Jean-Éric Vergne who endured a disappointing race after hitting energy deficits in the closing stages.
Nick Cassidy, the early-season points frontrunner, faded to 16th after completing only 40 laps due to a powertrain glitch, losing crucial ground in the championship chase.
Cupra’s Dan Ticktum was the sole DNF, retiring on lap 25 after a suspension failure from an earlier off-track excursion.
