The day unfolded with cooler morning conditions that spurred a flurry of improvements, setting the stage for what would become a Honda masterclass.
Pol Espargaro struck first, lowering the overall best to 1m57.3s in the opening hour, with Aleix hot on his heels at 1m57.2s midway through the session, as Fabio Quartararo slotted into third for Monster Yamaha with a time matching Miller’s Day 2 benchmark.
However, as the afternoon wore on light showers descended with ten minutes remaining, scuppering final time attacks and practice starts, forcing riders to prioritize wet-weather data over dry lap records.
Despite the rain’s untimely arrival, Aleix Espargaro sealed his supremacy with a blistering 1m57.173s—nearly a second quicker than his Day 1 effort and fast enough for a hypothetical second-row grid slot at the 2025 Malaysian GP.
Pol shadowed his brother closely in second, just 0.126s adrift, while Quartararo led the V4 Yamahas in third, followed by teammates Alex Rins and Jack Miller.
LCR Honda‘s Diogo Moreira leaped forward dramatically, shaving 1.6 seconds off his previous best to hit the sixth fastest lap, edging out KTM test rider Dani Pedrosa and fellow rookie Toprak Razgatlioglu.
