Marc Marquez delivered a commanding lap to top opening practice ahead of Franco Morbidelli – Full MotoGP Silverstone FP1 Results 2025.
The Spaniard set a blistering 1:58.702 on the Ducati Lenovo GP25 machine making him the only rider to dip below the 1:59 mark in the 45-minute British MotoGP Free Practice 1 session.
Franco Morbidelli emerged as Marquez’s closest challenger after his final flying lap saw him vault into second place for Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing, finishing just 0.365 seconds adrift with a time of 1:59.067.
The Italian’s late charge pushed Alex Marquez (BK8 Gresini Racing, Ducati GP24) down to third, completing a Ducati 1-2-3.
Beyond the Ducati dominance, Marco Bezzecchi was the leading Aprilia in fourth while Jack Miller marked the top Yamaha finisher in fifth, just 0.485 seconds off the pace. Maverick Viñales took sixth on the KTM RC16 ahead of Fabio Quartararo who finished seventh despite sitting out the first ten minutes of the session.
Quartararo’s teammate Alex Rins was ninth with Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia sandwiching the Yamaha duo. Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rookie Pedro Acosta completed the top ten.
