Miami GP to offer 'real' VIP marina at $67,000

Miami Grand Prix race organizers are now selling a VIP “marina” package called the “Sunset Cabana” which will include real water after the 2022 event sparked criticism after featuring a fake marina.

Several of the stories that the inaugural Miami Grand Prix in 2022 inspired were amazing, not all of them were. A notable example is the “fake marina” that broke the internet.

The Florida race, however, is stepping up its aquatic efforts for the 2023 edition on Sunday, May 7, after receiving widespread criticism for allegedly attempting to recreate Monaco without the water.

Miami Grand Prix race organizers are now selling a VIP “marina” package called the “Sunset Cabana,” according to American sports industry pioneer Front Office Sports. Furthermore, it looks to include actual water. This is the genuine approach to improve the race experience and stop using fakes.

However, the Marina package comes at a staggering cost. While F1 steadily becomes a huge attraction in the United States, all of this luxury (and water) obviously comes at a cost. Due in large part to the popular “Drive to Survive” documentary series on Netflix.

The “Sunset Cabana” is available for the hefty price of $67,000. The Cabanas can accommodate up to 15 guests, which would help lessen the cost per head a little.

This comes after the world’s only global network of superyacht destination marinas and service providers, IGY Marinas, announced it is providing VIP packages for Miami Grand Prix Weekend.

These high-end, customized event packages come with dockage at IGY Yacht Haven Grande Miami at Island Gardens, chopper transportation to and from the track, and entry to the Turn 5 Suites with views of one of the most exciting corners on the F1 course.

“The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the highlights of year for the international yachting community. Thanks to Yacht Haven Grande Miami’s prime location, five-star service and facilities, we are delighted to be able to put another premier event on the calendar: the F1 Miami Grand Prix,” said IGY CEO Tom Mukamal.

“IGY’s elite F1 Miami Grand Prix offering officially launches our new Events | IGY Marinas service, providing unparalleled VIP settings for a wide range of activations from intimate gatherings and yacht hops to corporate meetings and brand launches, to events on a grand scale.”
