Full Italian WorldSBK 2025 Race 2 Results – Nicolo Bulega delivered a masterclass at Cremona, completing a stunning home hat-trick and reinforcing his status as the championship leader.
The weekend was marked by Bulega’s dominance, resilience and a display of strategic riding that left his rivals trailing and the passionate Italian crowd in awe.
The Italian WorldSBK 2025 Race 2, held under perfect conditions at the Cremona Circuit, unfolded with drama, tactical battles and standout performances across the grid offering a spectacle befitting the stature of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship.
From the outset anticipation was high as Nicolo Bulega lined up on pole having already secured victories in Race 1 and the Superpole Race.
However, it was Toprak Razgatlioglu who made the most decisive start surging ahead of Bulega into the first corner. Razgatlioglu’s aggression paid off early, capitalizing on a pair of rare mistakes from Bulega to seize the lead by the end of the opening lap.
The Turkish rider known as ‘El Turco’ demonstrated his trademark tenacity defending his position and making his frustrations with BMW’s relative lack of straight-line speed evident as he battled to keep the Ducati at bay.
The early laps were a showcase of high-speed chess between the two championship protagonists. Bulega undeterred by his initial errors regrouped and began to apply relentless pressure on Razgatlioglu, particularly exploiting the Ducati’s superior acceleration on Cremona’s straights.
By lap five, Bulega executed a decisive move on the back straight reclaiming the lead with clinical precision. Once in front, the Italian set a blistering pace gradually pulling away as Razgatlioglu struggled to respond, hampered by the BMW’s limitations in outright speed.

Behind the leading duo, Bulega’s Aruba.it Racing Ducati teammate Alvaro Bautista maintained a consistent third position.
Bautista’s performance was notable not only for his pace but also for the milestone he achieved during Race 2, becoming the Spaniard with the most WorldSBK starts at 216 surpassing Ruben Xaus.
Further down the order, Barni Spark’s Danilo Petrucci delivered his strongest result of the weekend. Starting from sixth, Petrucci showcased his racecraft and determination, climbing to fourth with a series of bold overtakes including a memorable move on Xavi Vierge despite his bike being unsettled.
The battle for fifth was one of the most fiercely contested of the race. Sam Lowes riding for ELF Marc VDS Racing Team and still recovering from illness produced a late surge to overhaul both Honda factory riders, Iker Lecuona and Xavi Vierge.
Lowes’ determination saw him edge Lecuona by just 0.202 seconds at the flag with Vierge a further 0.617 seconds adrift. The Honda duo had shown strong pace throughout the race with Lecuona in particular making significant progress through the field but ultimately had to settle for sixth and seventh respectively.
Pata Yamaha’s Andrea Locatelli started brightly and was running as high as fifth in the early laps. However, as the race progressed, he was gradually shuffled down the order by the advancing Petrucci, Vierge and Lowes, eventually crossing the line in eighth.
ROKiT BMW Motorrad’s Michael van der Mark and GYTR GRT Yamaha’s Remy Gardner were embroiled in a tense duel for ninth. Van der Mark ultimately prevailed fending off Gardner’s late charge.
