Norman Nato has joined Tom Dillmann as a reserve driver at Jaguar TCS.

Jaguar TCS Racing announced on Tuesday that Norman Nato and Tom Dillmann will both serve as simulator and reserve drivers for the British racing team this season.

Nato, who won the final race of season seven at Tempelhoff Airport as a rookie, joins Jaguar TCS Racing’s reserve driver line-up this season along with Tom Dillmann, who continues to serve as the team’s reserve driver.

The duo will focus on crucial tasks in the simulator and testing, making sure that the Jaguar I-TYPE 5 is as competitive as possible for the team, as well as switching their roles as reserve drivers during races.

Norman Nato is not new to Formula E, he previously raced for Venturi as a reserve driver from 2018 to 2019 before being promoted to a full-time driver with the team.

“I’m excited to be joining the Jaguar TCS Racing team,” Nato said. “I’m determined to help the team fight for points, podiums and reach their top performance.”

“I have a lot to learn and discover but I will be ready anytime the team needs me, inside or outside of the Jaguar I-TYPE 5.”

“I consider Mitch and Sam as two really good friends, having raced with Mitch in F2 and I’ve known Sam for many years, and I look forward to supporting them and the team in season eight.”
The Frenchman acquired experience in the F4 Eurocup 1.6 and Formula Renault 2.0 Alps before winning the 2014 Formula Renault 3.5 Series season in both Monaco and Hungary. The 29-year-old finished third in both the 2018 European Le Mans Series and the 2019/20 FIA World Endurance Championship, including second in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The announcement comes ahead of the season eight opening race weekend, which will take place on the streets of Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, on January 28 and 29.
