Valentino Rossi captured the imagination of motorsport fans worldwide by unveiling a special music-themed VR46 livery for the 2025 Mugello MotoGP Italy.
The special design, which will adorn the Ducati machines of Franco Morbidelli and Fabio di Giannantonio, is more than just a visual update—it is a vibrant celebration of Italian culture, music, and the enduring spirit of collaboration that defines Rossi’s approach to racing.
The anticipation surrounding the Mugello MotoGP is always palpable but for the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team the home race carries a unique emotional charge.
Mugello is not only a temple of speed but also a stage for Rossi’s team to showcase its identity in front of a passionate home crowd.
Recognizing the significance of this occasion, Rossi and his team have made it a tradition to introduce a special livery each year, turning the event into a festival of creativity and national pride.
The special VR46 livery, unveiled on Thursday morning ahead of the race weekend, is a result of a remarkable collaboration between Valentino Rossi, Italian rockstar Cesare Cremonini and renowned designer Aldo Drudi – the creative mastermind behind many of Rossi’s iconic helmet designs.
The new color scheme, dominated by striking purple and light blue hues, is inspired by Cremonini’s latest album and the ethereal beauty of the Northern Lights.

Rossi explained that the idea for the livery was born from his long-standing friendship with Cremonini, which began two decades ago after a concert.
“20 years ago, we met after a concert and from that moment we became closer and closer friends,” the seven-time MotoGP champion and VR46 team owner said.
“He’s a rockstar, one of the most important singers in Italy, so we wanted to do something together. Music and MotoGP are pure emotion; they excite millions.
“Together with Aldo Drudi, we started to think about how to put the graphics of his latest album on the MotoGP bike.
“It was not easy at all. However, we made a great work with Aldo and, for me, the bike is beautiful.”

Cremonini, for his part, expressed his excitement and pride in seeing his artistic vision brought to life on the VR46 bikes: “We united music and motorsport in a shared dream. This project is like a hug between friends who share the same passion.
“I love motorbike races and Vale loves every kind of music. I can’t wait to see it on my stage, displayed like a trophy at the Renato Dall’Ara stadium, but especially on the grid on the track on Sunday at Mugello.”
From a technical perspective, the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team enters the Mugello MotoGP weekend with high hopes.
Franco Morbidelli, currently fourth in the 2025 MotoGP World Championship standings, has shown consistent form on the GP24 throughout the season, including a podium finish in Argentina and a promotion to third place in Qatar following a post-race penalty for a rival.
Meanwhile, Fabio di Giannantonio ranks fifth in the current standings on the factory-spec GP25 AND has also demonstrated his potential with a podium at the Circuit of the Americas.
The combination of talent, machinery, and home support positions the team as strong contenders for a standout performance at the Italian MotoGP.
