Spanish Grand Prix FP3 Results 2025 F1 – McLaren completes Barcelona practice sweep

Oscar Piastri led his McLaren teammate Lando Norris in final Barcelona Formula 1 practice – Full Spanish Grand Prix FP3 Results 2025 F1.

The Australian who currently leads the drivers’ championship set a blistering lap time of 1:12.387, outpacing his teammate by a notable margin of 0.526 seconds, stamping McLaren’s dominance throughout the weekend’s practice sessions.

The session began with Mercedes drivers George Russell and rookie Kimi Antonelli showing early promise, occupying the top spots during the initial runs.

Their W16 chassis appeared well-suited to the circuit’s demanding layout, and the Mercedes garage was buoyed by the underlying pace evident in both drivers’ performances.

However, as the session progressed and teams switched to soft tyres for their final qualifying simulations, the McLarens surged ahead with Oscar Piastri’s lap proving untouchable.

Lando Norris encountered a setback during his fastest attempt after bottoming-out at Turn 9, forcing him to take to the exit road and costing him valuable time. Despite this, he proceeded to secure the second-fastest lap, keeping him firmly in contention for pole position.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc secured third place in FP3, finishing 0.743 seconds behind Piastri. His teammate Lewis Hamilton managed to improve in FP3, ending the session ninth after the six-time Spanish Grand Prix winner struggled to break into the top ten during FP2.
