Marc Marquez fastest in German MotoGP FP1 ahead of Jack Miller

Marc Marquez led Jack Miller in opening practice at Sachsenring – Full 2025 German MotoGP FP1 Results.

The Spaniard, already leading the championship by a significant margin, demonstrated why he is considered the king of Sachsenring after posting a lap time of 1:20.372, a benchmark that would remain unbeaten throughout the 45-minute session.

The session unfolded under a sky that threatened rain, adding a layer of urgency and unpredictability to the proceedings. Riders wasted no time in taking to the track, eager to set competitive times before the weather could intervene.

Marc Marquez immediately signaled his intentions by setting a blistering pace early in the session. His ability to find grip and maintain momentum through the circuit’s flowing sections was unmatched, as he refrained from switching to fresh tyres for a late-session time attack, unlike many of his rivals.

Jack Miller emerged as Marquez’s closest challenger after pushing his Yamaha to the limit, ultimately posting a lap just 0.109 seconds shy of the session’s benchmark.

Marco Bezzecchi utilized new tyres in the closing minutes to secure the third-fastest time of the session for Aprilia ahead of Johann Zarco who emerged as the top Honda rider in fourth despite suffering a crash at Turn 1 midway through the practice.

Maverick Viñales ensured all five manufacturers were represented in the top spots after finishing fifth for Red Bull KTM Tech3. Fabio di Giannantonio was sixth fastest for VR46 Racing Team, while Joan Mir marked the second Honda in seventh.

Fabio Quartararo started his weekend on a positive note by finishing eighth as Marquez’s Ducati teammate Francesco Bagnaia and Pramac’s Miguel Oliveira completed the top ten.
