Fabio Quartararo deletes a social media post due to homophobic remarks

Fabio Quartararo encountered the ugly side of social media on Wednesday when he was forced to delete an image he posted on X.com due to homophobic remarks.

Factory Yamaha rider Fabio Quartararo shared a picture of himself and a friend on social media. However, he had to disable comments on Instagram and delete the post on X due to several homophobic remarks he received.

Quartararo chose to share a picture of himself and his close friend Ethan Doux on social media on Christmas Day with little knowledge of what was in store for him.

The image captioned “What are we talking about?” features the two in a friendly mood.

Had the picture been taken in any other setting, it would have received a few thousand likes and a few festive comments. However, social media has turned into a hateful place where a straightforward picture of two friends can result in offensive words that are considered homophobic.

The rider’s official Instagram account still features the same image, but the offensive remarks have been deleted. Moreover, commenting on the post has been currently restricted.
